Urbanathlon -2008 - A big Blast
WooooHooooo what fun I had today on the Urbanathlon - http://www.menshealthurbanathlon.com/course.cfm
What it is, its a 10.5 run with obstacles. You can do it in teams of 3 or solo. Of course I decided to do it as solo. The run was easy, my fastest mile was at 7:45, my over average, excluding the stair climbing was about 8:45. There were 8 obstacles throughout.
1. Monkey bars - did well, had to jump to reach it and finished it, but with my shoulder tendinitis I was feeling the pain on my right shoulder.
2. Jersey barricade and the culvert tunnel - easy no problems there.
3. Under the Dodge pickup and under the cargo nets - still easy no issues there
4. Marine Hurdle - DAMN - this one really made me angry, it way above my head I tried to do it in several ways, but just could not get over it. I could not believe how hard it was. I would wrap my legs and arm around it and hand there and could not get my body over it. In fact the girl, a cutie, tried to push me over but she could not. So, she ended up cuffing her hands so I can step on it and leap over it. As I am done, it just took my breath away... I was so pissed that now I want to find does marine hurdles and practice them so I can conquer them... Ugh...
5. Soldier field stairs up and down 3 times.- There was a bottle neck at the entrance, so I ended up waiting and waiting to get to the stairs, that one obstacles that I thought would kick my ass, did not... It was fairly easy, but steep.
6. Over the Taxi - Easy, I just leaped over it.
7. Over the wall - 2nd try manage to pull myself over without a problem
Next time, I will train for Marine hurdles and start doing major pull ups, as long as my right shoulder does not give me a problems.
I have to give special thanks to some great and awesome supp rot I had on the Course,
April and Karyn who out there on their bike just rooting for me.
My best friend Michelle, near solider field and at the finish line cheering me on. was quite moving
And Heather and little Hana at the finish line with her big smile. THanks you so much.

Chicago Marathon 2008 (Support)
It was another year for a hot marathon, but at least the humidty was not that bad, just the sun and the heat. I was out there supporting my runners. Manage to see all of them except for one. I provided Twizzlers, Powergel, Banana, Water, and sponges. It was so good to see all of them. I felt like running it, but still had a lot of fun. I ended up doing about 25 miles and running at least 10 miles during the support.

Starved Rock Bike Ride
It was yet another great day for a bike ride. Decided to do only 2 loops since I am going to support about 10 runners and wanted to be able to run with them, even with a backpack full of gear and water. Looks like it is going to be another hot one. I wish them all luck.
We had a lot of fun on the bike ride. Rode with Kevin the whole way and had some great conversation that I enjoyed very much. He did awesome.
Tracy and I at a rest stop.
Here we are approaching a massive hill Dan, our coach in the lead follow by Kevin

Computrainer 10/06/2008
Computrainer day tonight. What a workout... Really kicked me in the butt. Came in 3rd, after the coach. Did 22 miles in 1:20 hrs, burned 1110 calories, max heart rate about 166. Cadence avg about 146. The ride was part of the El Tour de Tuscan. Lots of climbing. It hurt my IT band, so I had to roll it when I got home. Great workout, however.

TNT Honolulu Training for 10/04/2008
Well, it was another good day for a run. I felt a little sluggish at first but was able to kick it up at the end. See status and route above. Ran the last mile around 7:44. I really did do 12 miles, but somewhere along the route, I forgot to restart my GPS. Big bummer.
It was also a bit harder, because I video taped ourselves running. So look out for the video.

TNT Midweek Training for 10/01/2008
Here are some stats of my midweek training, that includes 3 mile bike ride to the track, 1 miles warm up, 4 200m sprints with 4 200m jog, with a rest in the middle then repeat. for the last section I did 4 100m hard sprints. Jog for 400m and then stretch, did 3 sets of 30 decline push up, planks for 90 seconds and crunches. I did not feel well during the whole routine. I lacked energy and umph. I had nothing and felt miserable with the chilly air hitting me. I kept bouncing between my windbreaker and my sleeveless jersey. I felt beaten up.
I decided to start my workout at 5:45pm, since I felt no one was going to show up. I was right. If they did show up, I would have just coached them and give them support, by 6:45pm no one came, so I finished up and left.
Not a good day.
Today I will do bicep and tricept... see how I feel with that.
ugh....
