Race to the Taste 2008

This Sunday was the Race to the Taste. Chicago has an annual Taste of Chicago that takes place on Grand Park just leading up to the Fourth of July. It is a great opportunity to taste some of Chicago's fine cuisines. On the first day of the opening there is usually a Race to the taste 5k Race. I ran it with Natalia, Tiatana, and Jessica. We ran great considering that it was about 100% humidity. I felt my IT band hurt a bit at mile 2, which now worries me. But still manage to keep it at an average of 8 min miles. So I my time was around 24 minutes. not to bad for a 5k

JP Corporate 5k Stats

Interesting experiment, for not having run since Dec Las Vegas Marathon, I did better then expected on this 5k. Ran faster then I thought. I am about 12 ibs lighter, so that could have helped a lot and been doing a lot more of cycling. Here are some interesting stats

JP Corporate Challenge 5k 2008

It was good time. Our company Newedge did a great job in organizing our set up. We had the biggest tent, great layout of food. The weather was perfect for running, although it was bit chilly to begin with but once started you warmed up. As usual, runner were weaving in and out, so in the beginning it was a bit of chaos.

New Year 5k Run

Ok, I manage to get my butt out of bed and do the 5k fun run. No chip time, since I registered on race day. Those who pre-registered got a chip. I was not too concern about it, since my last run was at the Las Vegas marathon 1 month ago. I knew I was not going to get a PR. I felt very sluggish and slow. It was very beautiful out there but very cold.
Because of the cold, the wind and the snow, my time was not the best. Got in at 31 minutes. About 10 minutes slower then my best time of 21 min. In 2007 I did it in 27 minutes but it was warmer and no snow
