Good Day for Bike The Drive 2008

It was a perfect day for Bike the drive. I went with Sue, Natalie and Gato. We had such a great time. Although I was in a rush, because I had to finish up and drive to Glen Ellyn to drop off my bike so it can be shipped to lake Tahoe. Wind was a bit strong coming from the south. So going north I pumped it up to 24 mph and felt great. I looked back and noticed I had 4 guys drafting me.

JP Corporate 5k Stats

Interesting experiment, for not having run since Dec Las Vegas Marathon, I did better then expected on this 5k. Ran faster then I thought. I am about 12 ibs lighter, so that could have helped a lot and been doing a lot more of cycling. Here are some interesting stats

JP Corporate Challenge 5k 2008

It was good time. Our company Newedge did a great job in organizing our set up. We had the biggest tent, great layout of food. The weather was perfect for running, although it was bit chilly to begin with but once started you warmed up. As usual, runner were weaving in and out, so in the beginning it was a bit of chaos.

New Outdoor Gadget just acquired

Ok, some of you might know me as a gadget freak, but if it simplifies your life and can possible save your life, then why not.
I just acquired a great GPS for hiking. The Garmin Colorado 400t which contains the entire USA TOPO map and trails

Garmin Colorado 400t
Garmin's Colorado is a rugged, waterproof outdoor handheld GPS that can be used for hiking, boating, camping, in the car, or Geocaching.

I also acquired the SPOT, which can save my life. Used in case of an emergency I can click a button and can be rescued via by my GPS coordinates that the SPOT would provide the rescue service. http://www.findmespot.com/Home.aspx

Another neat feature is while hiking I can activate a button and it will update a google map that I can provide my friend and they can track exactly where I am every 10 minutes.
According to the website

TRACK PROGRESS: Also known as SPOTcastingSM, this feature allows friends and family to follow your progress in real time using your password, or to save waypoints so you can review your entire route at a later date.

How It Works:

Once activated, SPOT acquires and sends your GPS coordinates to your SPOT account every 10 minutes. Anyone with access to your account information can log on and view your route, complete with virtual views provided by Google Maps™. To continue tracking on longer journeys, the SPOTcastingSM function must be re-activated every 24 hours.

I am all set for the Century ride in Lake Tahoe and my Hiking Adventure in Desolation wilderness. More later.

TNT Training- in Barrington - 4,650 calories burned

Well, We all did it here at TNT. Finished the 85 miles rid in Barrington and burned 4,650 calories doing it. Felt really good up to mile 79, where I had nothing left and was completely empty.
It was such a great weather for riding. No soreness the next day, which is a good thing.

TNT Lake Tahoe Training - Naperville

What a beautiful day it was for a great 70 mile bike ride. Of course went off the course a bit about .50, but had good company to talk with and found out that we both have done RAGBRAI and might have met each other at one point. Good job Alane.
Here are some of the stats on Saturday's 70 miles ride according to my GPS.

Self Evolution Part 3

Life is all about choices. Living life is an adventure. New look, new outlook. Working out extra hard, helps me meditate and be more in tune to life.
As I always like to say. "Life life to the fullest as if its your last day, without regret."

Just do it!!!

TNT LakeTahoe Bike ride by the lake

Went for a 19 mile bike ride just for fun by the lake. I was flying but I did not do 58 miles max as my GPS indicated. It was good, it drizzled a bit, but felt great.

TNT St. Charles - Lake Tahoe Training

Another interesting ride. We had headwinds and tailwinds. Of course, the tailwinds where fun. It was a bit colder then I expected and at times it drizzle a bit. I got some bonus miles, missed my turned and instead of doing 65 miles, ended up doing 68.4 miles. Such is life.

Taking a short break. Lots of snack, but now Pizza.

The route we took. we took two loops and out.

Final Evolution of Danny- Maybe

Ok here I am, the new me. Why not. New place, new image, new outlook. Lost a bit of Ibs, gained some muscles, feeling good. Got my result of my fitness test and I did very well, especially on my VO2Max 47.8. It indicates that when I reach 50.36 I will have a rating of Superior. How interesting.
More updates later
