Go with the flow

Picture taken in Sequoias NP

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them - that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” - Lao-Tzu

This is so true. Sometime life throws you curve balls, obstacles and burdens and one must find the path with the least resistance. There is always a way around it. There is no reason to be anger or frustrated by these blocks. We can not change things that we have no control in. If we let them get to us then it is going to frustrated us. We must learn to 'Go With the Flow". If it's God's will then let it be and find another way. We have options and one options is not to be anger or frustrated with what life presents us with. Just smile, breathe and proceed.
Roll with the punches that life gives you. Go with the flow and don't mold life the way YOU want it to be.
Just think about these words, they are so powerful in meaning and be a source of achieving some peace of mind "GO WITH THE FLOW"
Happy days are ahead of us!!

Emotional - EQ

Emotions, I believe is the essence of who we are in a deep way. Our emotions can not be denied or escape. It becomes truly who we are. Emotions are what drives us into different direction and help us make decisions.
Being aware and understanding our own emotion is what gives us Emotional Intelligence (EQ). Some people are just born with a high EQ and other has to learn it. Sometimes it could all be related to our own soul (Old vs New, previous blog). Most Old Souls have a high EQ. Understanding and learning from your emotions can provide you with much personal growth and understand of the world around you. We are all emotional being, and learning how to express it and deal with it is what I believe is all about personal growth.
I sometime think that failed marriages or relationship is due to incompatibility of EQ. When you are out of balance in this area it creates a mis-understanding of each other which creates resentment.
As emotional being we need but are not confined to, a desire for love, intimacy, affection, kindness, acceptance, respect, dependability, autonomy, emotional support and empathy.

EQ offers tremendous practical application in all major part of our lives. A touch of EQ at the right time can mean the difference between conflict and cooperation, understanding and disagreement, closeness and distance, love and hate, violence and non-violence, and ultimately, war and peace.

Spirit of the Marathon

Last night went to see "Spirit of the Marathon" and wow, what inspirational. It was only the second showing and it was sold out. Watching it is a very emotional and inspirational experience. Dreams can come true

I think and have to believe that dreams can come true if you pursue them. Don't just sit there, do something about it. It all starts with you. You know you have the power to do so much. No on will do it for you. You have to do it for yourself. Find the courage to do what is in your heart and what you dream off. It doesn't matter if it is someone you are pursuing or a job you are after. It all just starts with you. I don't think there is nothing that you can not do.

You are more capable of doing what you set out to.

Grab Life

I have been doing a bit of thinking about life. My purpose of this blog entry is to motivate you to take action on creating the life you want. I myself need to do this. If you are dissatisfied with some part of your life, know that you have the power to change it and it all start with your thoughts.

It is an undeniable fact that how you think and what you think about determines the shape and quality of your life.

Can your thinking prevent tragedy and challenges from touching your life? No. We all experience our share of hardship and misfortune. Life is not always easy, but it is wondrous and beautiful all the same.

I know you can eliminate bad things in your life, what can thought do to help in difficult situations? By controlling your thought you can determine how those incidents affect your life. Choose to find the good, find the lessons and you will shape a more positive life for yourself. Remember it is how think about it that counts and determines how you will feel.

So what should you do about all this.

1. when you get up in the morning, and before you get up from bed. Mediate about your life. Think about how positive you will be today. Think about how great it is to breath life in and out. Make sure you get up with some positive thought about yourself.

2. Daydream. Yes, I love doing this. Day dream about your plans for the future. Think about the area in your life which you want to change. Day dream about where you want to go or achieve. This is the first step.

3. Write down your dream down. This put forth a more concret declaration of what you want to achive. You now have it on paper. Don't worry about if it is possible. Assume that anything is possible.

4. Action, what will it take for your dreams to come true. Break it down to monthly, daily goals and weekly goals. How will you get there?

5. Find someone who has done what you want to do or achieve what you want to achieve. Seek advice. How did they handle the challenge? What kind of sacrifices did it take. Remember, life is full of risk and you only have one life to live and with no regrets. If this person suceeded, why can't you.

6. Remind yourself the goal you have set. Put up post it to remind you . Send yourself emails to remind you.

7. What I do is be thankful everyday. Before you wake up, take a bit of time each morning to really appreciate what you currently have in your life that is good.

8. Believe. Believing in the power of your thoughts. If you can think it you can achieve it. It is all up to you. Don't let anyone get in your way of achieving what you set out to.

Most important, take action towards your goal. It only takes small steps that will add up to your achievement. You are all capable of more then you think you can.

Hike along Lake Tahoe on the PCT

Ok, I just called the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit and found out that this trail will be closed due to snow in late May and early June. So I am left to find another PCT trail to hike. The ranger adviced me to check out desolation lake hike in the wilderness, which should be really beautiful.

I am now looking at doing another section from Echo Lake Resort to Donner Pass at I-80.

Here is what I found on the internet about it

All of this section is in high mountains with glorious vistas along the way. There are several access points to the PCT, making a total of five day hikes possible. The southern part of Section K traverses Desolation Wilderness, the most popular wilderness area in California. The Eagle Falls TH, one access route to this wilderness area and to the PCT near South Lake Tahoe, is the busiest trailhead in all of Tahoe NF. Northbound, you reach Barker Pass (7650), then hike the crest above Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley ski areas on your way to famous Donner Pass on Old Highway 40 (7090) and finally I-80 near Boreal Ridge (7190).

What is Love

Happy Valentine's day. I think everyday should be about love and not just a holiday. Why be so special on just one day? Everyday should be viewed as a special day of being alive and expressing yourself of your love for everyone and the one you care about.
Humans often don't realize that some of their action are based for love. The pursuit for acceptance leads for the need to be loved that leads to happiness. We all like to be accepted by others and be loved. There are many levels of love. There is the friendship love, the lust, the love for your mated...etc. There is also the love for nature, animals and plants for the Earth itself. Love comes in many forms.
Affection: feelings of tenderness and/or wanting physical closeness
Attachment: satisfying basic emotional needs
Altruism: selfless or unselfish concern for another
Reciprocation: if love is mutual
Commitment: a desire to maintain love
Emotional intimacy: sharing emotions and feelings
Friendship: the spirit between friends
Kinship: family bonds
Passion: whole-hearted desire
Physical intimacy: sharing of intimate personal space
Self-interest: desiring rewards
Service: desire to help

I will leave you now with these great Love Qoutes.

"One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love." - Sophocles

"We love because it's the only true adventure." - Nikki Giovanni
"Love is friendship set on fire." - unknown
"Love is everything it's cracked up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it...It really is worth fighting for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk everything, you risk even more." - Erica Jong
"Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness." - Oliver Wendell Holmes
"Love has no awareness of merit or demerit; it has no scale... Love loves; this is its nature." - Howard Thurman
"Loves makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place." - Zora Neale Hurston
"Love is the irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired." - Mark Twain
"Love is more than three words mumbled before bedtime. Love is sustained by action, a pattern of devotion in the things we do for each other every day." - Nicholas Sparks
"Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit." - Peter Ustinov
"Love doesn't make the world go round, love is what makes the ride worthwhile." - Elizabeth Browning

Be Yourself

I am not sure how I came across this, but this hits the spot

Use what you have. Use everything you have, and that includes your past and who you are as a person.
You may not be an athlete. Running may be the first sport you’ve ever done seriously. Even so, there are things in your past that can be helpful to you now. Think about what those things could be. Find them, and put them to use in your running.
You may have been a great athlete when you were younger, only your sports were baseball and basketball, not running. Nevertheless, there are things in your past that can be applied to running.
Your mom or dad may have taught you something as a kid. Something may have happened to you 20 years ago that still speaks to you today. If so, put it to use. All your past plays a part in forming who you are. Some past events are negative. Becoming aware of yourself also means becoming aware of the negative patterns that have shaped your life and how you can change them.
You are who you are. And who you are is quite unique. No one else has your individual experiences, past, knowledge. You’re a resource larger than the internet, and you’re all there, available for the taking. Tap into those internal resources, and make yourself the runner you want to be.

Staying Positive

It is blizzard like condition outside. Blowing snow, cloudy, and depressing. Staying positive is a key to happiness and hope. In the midst of weather or personal challenges, it is ideal that you stay positive. A positive attitude will bring forth great success.
Not sure where I found this, but I believe in this.
  • Facing a Challenge
Most people quit. I will not quit. I am a fighter. I can do it.
This is easy. I am going to enjoy doing this.
This is nothing. I am up for the challenge.
I will succeed. It is just a matter of time.
This problem is an opportunity to be creative.
  • Reduce Worry and Frustration
I am living in the peace of God.
Order and balance emerge from my every problem.
I can feel stillness in this chaos.
I make the best out of the worst of situations.
    I love a challenge.
  • Being Happy
    I have a healthy attitude.
I am awestruck with the beauty of creation.
I choose to be happy right now.

Positive attitude is all about the way you think. You are what you think. Remove all negativity by thinking positive.

Peace

Sense of Adventure

How do you define adventure? I believe one sense of adventure is unique. It could be anything from biking across America or Iowa. Hot ballooning above Africa and watching the Lions.
Do you want to push the envelope of your comfort zone and see what you are made off? The kind of adventure where you push your mind and body.
Adventurous trips are those travels that change you, enchant you and ensure memories for a lifetime. Some travelers go for the physical thrills and the opportunities that stretch a body's physical capabilities to the utmost degree. Other travelers would rather use their minds, eyes, hearing and cameras to enhance their experiences.
Take this time and make a list of your Life's Adventures. Where do you want to go and do. Don't limit yourself, ever. You are capable of doing it more then you think you can. You be would surprised at yourself.

Wish I was here today

I am here working away and suddenly had an urge to be back on the road driving west. Here is picture I took in Seqoius National park. It is so beautiful. Just look at how tall these trees are.

The Race is on

Ok so this weekend I went with 10 other guys for some racing on a Chicago indoor track. It was quite exciting, yet I pretty much sucked. I think I was too conservative in my speed, especially on those turns. I kept spinning and fish tailing on some of the turns and missed some valuable time and position. Overall it was a good time.

Old Soul

Don't really know why I am comtemplating on this today. Years ago, I went to a famous physic here in Chicago, who has appeared in Radio and TV and used to work with the Police Department in recovery bodies. She once told me that I have an old soul. I am not young as far as my soul is consider. Sometimes, this is one reason why I find myself not connecting to anyone that I meet for a mate. I would be attractive to them, but would not connect at any other level. This is my best quess as to why.
What is an old soul and what is this hocus pocus I am talking about.
There are a number of factors to take into consideration when calling one an old soul.
First of all it has nothing to do with ones age in this incarnation.
For example, a four year old child may be an old soul, yet an eighty year old person may be a young soul.
One thing for sure is that an old soul seems to have had many reincarnations on Earth or other places for that matter.
But most important they have brought with them a sense of spiritual wisdom through the learning processes of previous incarnations.
Old souls are also people of strong emotional stability.

The key signs of an old soul
· Giving and caring often putting others first
· Had a difficult romantic life often with much pain and disappointment
· More than likely had a soulmate relationship
· Things just seem to happen to you and around you, often becoming very dramatic through the seemingly extreme reactions of others
· Events repeat themselves
· Have trouble connecting with your family
· Somehow know you're different
· Have some psychic intuition and 'just knowing' things
· Find that you have deeper emotions and passions than most people
· People have extreme reactions to you - some just adore you and some seem to really dislike you yet you behave the same to everyone
· Have an inner creative passion
· Suffer lots of jealousy· Often perceived wrongly
· Feel your don't have much free will, like your life is being controlled by some outside force· Often feel 'stuck' like events just keep on happening to you time after time

Soul AgeThe terms 'old soul' and 'young soul' aren't just descriptions of personality types but do give us a meaningful clue to why we find ourselves in this life cycle…The journey of the soul through many lives is one of growth and learning from the earliest manifestation of that soul in human form - where it's focused on material things, power, ego and the "now", eventually through to the higher levels of compassion, truth, destiny, caring and fairness in later lives as old souls.
I often find myself in search of soul fullfillment, but my thrist for this type of fullfillment never gets satisfied.
I will have more later as I develop my thought more
